Graf Zeppelin

The popular German march music composer Carl Teike (1864-1922), author of the world famos Old Comrades, wrote this thrilling march shortly after the record flight made by the aeronaut Count Zeppelin. In 1900 Ferdinand von Zeppelin (1838-1917) put an end to his career as an officer in the army, to devote all his time to the construction of dirigibles (named Zeppelins after their constructor). In 1929 the dirigible Graf Zeppelin flew around the world in twelve days.
