With special interest in melodic construction and rhythmic power, Espíritu goes through contrasting emotions and expressions, creating varied environments and textures. The work integrates features of musical genres of the Latin American tropic such as Colombian bambuco, Venezuelan joropo and dances in 6/8 that show the African influence on South American music. The powerful spirit of the New World beats, sings and travels through magical, aggressive and seductive landscapes, in five minutes.
