Napoleon March

Opus 156/RV 156

This march was written in 1854 by Johann Strauss II, known from "an der schönen blauen Donau" in honour of Napoleon III (cousin of Napoleon I), the last emperor of France who reigned from 1852 to 1870. An extremely stately march in the famous Austrian style as we know it from the Radetsky Marsch that his father (Johan Straus sr.) composed 6 years earlier.
